Laser Hair Reduction FAQ

What Laser do you use for your LHR?

Our Hair Reduction Laser is the Lumenis Duet. A traditional diode laser with the new HIT (High Speed Integrated Technology), making treatment time 75% faster.

Is this laser safe for all skin types?

Yes, the Lumenis Duet can be used on any skin type.

How many treatments are needed?

On average, six treatments are required to see approximately an 80% reduction of hair growth. Darker skin types may require more sessions to achieve this result, as caution must be used in treating skin containing more pigment.

How often will I need to come in for treatments?

It is recommended that facial treatments are done 4 to 6 weeks apart, while body areas treated 6 to 8 weeks apart.

Is it painful?

Technology has come a long way, the new HIT laser handpiece incorporates suction to elevate and stretch the skin which minimizes any sensation of heat. When the follicle is destroyed you will feel a slight pin prickling sensation.

Can I go back to work after a treatment?

Yes. The treatment area may have some redness post treatment, but this can be covered with make up. Body treatments are usually covered up by clothing when leaving the office.

IPL (Intensed-Pulsed Light) FAQ

What is this Procedure used for?

This technology gently and effectively eliminates spots, discolorations and unwanted blood vessels.

Is it painful?

You may experience a warm sensation as the light is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not be too uncomfortable.

Is it just one treatment?

Depending on your concern, the patient should expect to have 2 to 4 treatments done with 4 weeks in between sessions.

I have this red dot on my cheek, will the IPL be able to remove it?

As with all Laser patients, we ask that you come in for a consult so our team can assess. Most lesions of red or brown coloration can be treated, but caution will be used if lesion looks suspicious, with a referral to a dermatologist.

My Doctor says I have Rosacea, will this treatment help?

Yes, the IPL has been used for many years to diminish redness in the skin. Long term Rosacea patients also tend to have broken capillaries to which this machine is highly effective.

Radio-Frequency FAQ

What does Radio-Frequency do for the skin?

Radio-Frequency treatments are administered to the patient that is looking for dermal remodeling and textural improvement. Our, "e-Two Matrix" by Syneron does just that- "Sublime", provides dermal warming while a cross polarization of RF is used to disturb the tissue within the dermis. This wakes up the collagen production process, creating a firmer dermal support at the surface. "Sublative", works primarily on the surface to improve texture and tone. Depending on your concern, either handpiece,or both, may be recommended.

Is there any downtime after a treatment?

If using the Sublime RF there is no downtime at all after treatment, this technology works deep in the dermis with no evidence on the surface after a treatment. Sublative RF does leave a grid like pattern on the skin and no make up is recommended to be applied the day of treatment, but may be used the next morning.

When can I expect results?

Typical treatme t protocol is three treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. The results can start to be seen in 3 months with ongoing improvement over the next 6-9 months.
